Accounts
Depending upon your course and department, there are different ways to apply for a CS account. Please select your course in the index to show the procedures of applying or extending for an account for your particular course. If you still have questions or problems please visit our FAQ.
B.Sc. Informatics or B.Sc. Cyber Security
New Account
If you want to apply for an account for B.Sc. Informatics or B.Sc. Cyber Security, please consider the following:
- You must be enrolled in University of Bonn as a Student and study B.Sc. Informatics or B. Sc. Cyber Security as major subject.
To request creation of your account, use our online account management.
You now have to authenticate using your Uni-ID and corresponding password, before that the other input fields are blocked.
Enter your data, read the usage agreement, und and select 'create account'.
You'll now receive an e-mail with a confirmation link, please select that.
Now your account is enabled, and you can create your password on the password reset page.
Extension
If you already have an existing CS account and it is about to expire, you must file a prolongation request at the GSG's online account management. Select renew here, then authenticate with the account name and corresponding password.
Also, the matriculation number is required.
- You have to either study B.Sc. Informatics or B.Sc. Cyber Security at University of Bonn
After selecting 'sign in and then 'Renew Account' you can correct your personal data and then submit the request by selecting 'Request Account Renewal'''.
You'll now get a confirmation e-mail.
M.Sc. Informatics
New Account
If you want to apply for an account for M.Sc. Informatics, please consider following:
- You must be enrolled in University of Bonn as a Student and study M.Sc. Informatics as major subject.
To request creation of your account, use our online account management.
You now have to authenticate using your Uni-ID and corresponding password, before that the other input fields are blocked.
Enter your data, read the usage agreement, und and select 'create account'.
You'll now receive an e-mail with a confirmation link, please select that.
Now your account is enabled, and you can create your password on the password reset page.
Extension
If you already have an existing CS account and it is about to expire, you must file a prolongation request at the GSG's online account management. Select renew here, then authenticate with the account name and corresponding password.

- You have to study M.Sc. Informatics in University of Bonn

LSI
New Account
If you want to apply for an b-it-account for Life Science Informatics, please consider following:
- You must be enrolled in b-it as a Student and study LSI as major.
To request creation of your account, use our online account management.
You now have to authenticate using your Uni-ID and corresponding password, before that the other input fields are blocked.
Enter your data, read the usage agreement, und and select 'create account'.
You'll now receive an e-mail with a confirmation link, please select that.
Now your account is enabled, and you can create your password on the password reset page.

Media Informatics / Autonomous Systems
New Account
If you want to apply for an b-it-account for Media Informatics / Autonomous Systems, please consider following:
- You must be enrolled in b-it as a Student and study Media Informatics or Autonomous Systems as major.
- You'll need a University of Bonn Uni-ID. You have to request it at the Computing Centre. You'll need an up to date enrollment certificate from Aachen.
To request creation of your account, use our online account management.
You now have to authenticate using your Uni-ID and corresponding password, before that the other input fields are blocked.
Enter your data, read the usage agreement, und and select 'create account'.
You'll now receive an e-mail with a confirmation link, please select that.
Now your account is enabled, and you can create your password on the password reset page.
Extension

- You have to study Media Informatics or Autonomous Systems in b-it

Informatics as secondary or minor subject
New Account
If you study computer science as a secondary or minor subject and need a informatics account, you can request it here with a endorsement of your lecturer.
To request creation of your account, use our online account management.
You now have to authenticate using your Uni-ID and corresponding password, before that the other input fields are blocked.
Enter your data, read the usage agreement, und and select 'create account'.
You'll now receive an e-mail with a confirmation link (please select that) and a PDF, please print it, sign it (twice!) and let your lecturer co-sign it.
You can submit the signed document either:
- Currently scanned (200-300dpi suffice as e-mail to gsg@informatik.uni-bonn.de
- GSG office, room 0.014 in the Informatics building
- as paper mail.
Our staff will enable the account if all inputs where acceptable. If successful, you'll get an automatic e-mail.
Now your account is enabled, and you can create your password on the password reset page.
Extension

- Your lecturer or tutor will have to sign your account request, too.

You'll know get an e-mail with a PDF attachment. Please print it, sign it (twice) and let your lecturer co-sign it. Then submit it as follows:
- Currently: scanned (200-300 dpi suffice) per e-mail to gsg@informatik.uni-bonn.de
- Normally preferred: GSG letterbox (lecture hall building behind the janitors' office, next to the lockers)
- In case of questions: GSG helpdesk office, 0.014 in the Informatics building.
The requests will be checked and processed by member of our team.
You'll now get a confirmation e-mail.
FFF and guest students
New Account
If you are participant of the FFF program or a guest student and need a informatics account, you can request it here with a endorsement of your lecturer.
To request creation of your account, use our online account management.
Enter your data, read the usage agreement, und and select 'create account'.
You'll now receive an e-mail with a confirmation link (please select that) and a PDF, please print it, sign it (twice!) and let your lecturer co-sign it.
You can submit the signed document either:
